About

Betsy’s Mum is made up from a team of young, passionate individuals who want to promote healthy and nutritious eating for children and adults. We believe that educating children from the earliest possible age will set them up for a healthy and happy life, and crucially give them the knowledge and tools to pass on to generations to come.

Leading the mission is Sara who is Betsy’s Mum. Sara is on a journey to find out about the importance of healthy eating from a young age. While Sara has given Betsy a great start in life through healthy eating, as she grows and her needs develop, Sara wants to learn, dispel myths and get to the root of what we should be doing for our children.

As a culture we have all become somewhat aware of how nutrition can play a role in issues as diverse as behaviour, diabetes and obesity, while we’re also learning that environmental concerns such as sustainability and soil depletion also play a part in how and what we should be eating. Betsy and her generation will be more affected by these issues than their predecessors, and while in today’s media we are bombarded with new studies, scares and trends, as a new parent wanting to provide the best start in life for our children, this can be overwhelming and leave us not knowing who to turn to.

We will follow Sara as she seeks out information from a range of carefully selected professionals, chefs and other parents to find out about the effects that food has on our lives and apply what she has learned within her own young family. We are also very fortunate to have Stephanie Ridley in our team who is a Nutritional Therapist specialising in family nutrition. Stephanie will be with us every step of the way, making sure that we are always concentrating on the importance of nutritious food.
